It started the way most good things do: out of necessity.
When the world shut down in 2020, millions of Australians were trying to stay fit at home. The demand for home fitness changed overnight. But finding quality gym equipment that didn't cost a fortune was nearly impossible. So instead of waiting for the market to fix itself, the groundwork began in Melbourne for what would later become Curve Fitness.
Ajpa Wali and Dhara Mehta built Curve Fitness Australia around a simple belief: commercial-grade gym equipment should be accessible to everyone.

What Makes Curve Different
As women in an industry still heavily dominated by men, Ajpa and Dhara wanted to do things differently. A lot of gym equipment was designed, marketed, and priced for very specific customers. Everyone else was an afterthought. For everyday Australians balancing work, family, and everything else life demands, strength training often gets pushed to the bottom of the list. They wanted to build something better. Buying gym equipment should not mean choosing between poor quality and inflated prices.
Curve Fitness was built around the idea that whether you're a first-time lifter setting up a spare bedroom, a serious athlete building a garage gym, or a PT kitting out a studio, you deserve equipment that performs exactly as it should. Every piece of equipment in our range is hand-selected, and we work hard to ensure stock is checked before dispatch from our warehouse network. Ajpa and Dhara only partner with manufacturers who meet strict quality and safety standards. They use this equipment themselves, and they would not sell anything they would not train on.
